Facilities

At Wayfaring Farm we offer minimal facilities to preserve the integrity of the land and its unique setting. When the camping season is over we take everything down so that the land belongs to nature until the following year.

There is no electricity on site, so be sure to bring a portable power bank for your phone. We do have a drinking water tap tho, as well as a gas-powered shower.

Deluxe Shower Shack

All of our guests have access to our walk-in gas-powered shower, which is located in the first field and easy to get to. There is plenty of space, a mirror and hooks for your belongings on the door. Daylight streams through the curtained window. 

Shampoo and conditioner won’t hurt the land due to our state of the art Matala Bio filter.

Eco Toilets

Not just any old eco toilets. These ones are custom made, clean and do not smell bad in any way! Please do not be nervous of them.

Our strategically-placed toilets are cleaned twice daily. Compostable toilet roll and hand sanitiser are provided. Advantages of compost vs. chemical or plumbed loos include:

  • Eco toilets produce compost! That can be used (in time) to feed trees and flowers and make them grow big and beautiful
  • They are simple to use and environmentally friendly
  • They are ideal for remote locations and areas with little water, such as our campsite

Organic Veg Boxes for Sale

We have a well-established vegetable garden on site – pesticide free of course. Depending on the time of year our Veg Boxes could include kale, potatoes, carrots, onions, leeks, salad leaves, chard and tomatoes – perfect for a campfire stew!

We also have dry, firewood available for sale. A £10 fire starter bag contains firelighters, kindling and logs

Local Amenities

There is a small, general purpose store at 41 Farmlands Way, Wannock BN26 5LR (01323 486088). This sells dry, fresh and refrigerated goods – as well as cakes!

Polegate has a Co-op, a fish and chip shop and a Post Office within walking distance of the railway station.

Middle Farm (pictured) and Chilley Farm Shop are within driving distance and sell organic, locally produced food.
