Liz and Michael welcome your interest in camping at Wayfaring Farm. Please read on…
Important information including Terms and Conditions for camping at Wayfaring Farm. If the house rules don’t sound agreeable to you, then you should book somewhere better suited to your needs. Thank you for your understanding.
- Arrivals from 4pm to 6pm (no access to the parking field with a car after 7pm). A later arrival time may be possible on Fridays by Prior Arrangement only.
- Checkout by 11am
- No car access at all after 7pm
- Departure in car from 8am. (We are on good terms with our elderly neighbours; please assist us in maintaining good relations with them)
- Maximum number of guest cars on site is 10, available to book on a first come first served basis. If you have a bell tent booking you automatically have car parking included
- The terrain is, in places, steep and uneven, and you have to be able to walk up or down the field to arrive at the camping pitches (about 3-5 mins.) This campsite is not suitable for push chairs or wheel chairs due to the terrain
- Wayfaring Farm is home to rabbits, foxes and badgers. This means that there rabbit burrows, badger sets and fox holes located through the site. You need to tread carefully, and preferably keep to the mown paths. Make sure that you have a torch for when it is dark.
- Know how to get from your tent to the toilet before it gets dark
- This is a “Leave no Trace” The only rubbish that we can process is uncooked vegetable matter which can go on the compost heap. Apart from this, you will need to remove all your rubbish from site, including your recycling. Thank you
- No fireworks, confetti or glitter
- Do not feed the sheep or the horses on the other side of the fence
- No dogs– it is a working agricultural setting and there are sheep in the camping field.
- Pre-booking is essential. No walk on campers permitted without a reservation.
- Bring appropriate footwear. It is organic land, and that means there are some brambles and thistles in places
- Ensure that you place your tent where there are no big branches overhead that could fall on your tent. The mown areas will assist you in choosing a good spot. Please ask if in doubt.
- Noise- PLEASE NOTE: Staying in a tent can feel like you are in an insulated room, but remember.. the walls are made of canvas! We ask all our guests to respect each other, and others living/staying in the area. Please keep noise to a minimum, especially after 9pm Mon-Thurs and 10pm at weekends.
- Fires- fires are only allowed if they are in a fire bowl raised above the ground, or at 2 designated sites in the camping field. A fire bowl with a grill for BBQing will be supplied with a Bell tent booking
